Black History Month

Our lives will be forever changed by the events of the past year. The Covid-19 pandemic, though a large part of our “new normal”, was only a part. We also witnessed one of the largest civil rights movements in the history of this country. Days upon days of protests where the phrase “Black Lives Matter”- once spurned- was suddenly a sacred call to action.

This black History Month, in partnership with historian and author Janus Adams, BCakeNY highlights people, past and present, who put equality and equity at the forefront of their professional lives - who risked their careers, reputations and often safety for the betterment of their community and human kind.
